Rústico At Hay Shed Hill has one of the most value for money degustation menu in the Margaret River region and we booked it a few weeks in advance just to dine here.
🍽️ We ordered the 5 course degustation menu for AUD 85 (SGD 75) and wine pairing for AUD 49 (SGD 43). Each course comes with 2 dishes and we topped up an additional AUD 5 (SGD 4) per course to get 3 dishes.
🦪 For appetisers, we decided to add on half dozen oysters for AUD 38 (SGD 33). There were three types of oysters:
- natural flavour with red wine vinaigrette and lemon
- baked with mornay sauce
- baked with chorizo and manchego
🍴On to the main degustation menu! There were a total of 15 dishes and we were so full by the end of it. Here are some of the highlights:
🥩 bavette tartare that was mixed with pickles and rather unique
🍅 pan con tomate (tomato puree served on top of bread) was light and refreshing
🐙 octopus with olive oil, white bean puree and mojo verde sauce which was tender and soft
🦞 delicate and sweet chunky lobster served in soft choux puff
🧀 stracciatella with fruits and tomatoes drizzled in olive oil and champagne vinaigrette was creamy and yummy
🌾 pumpkin arancini (cheesy rice ball in bread crumbs) was simply amazing!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Cheap but not all the dishes hit the mark)
