Barbell rows are one of the most popular compound exercises for a back workout and we see people do them all the time!
A common question I get asked as a coach is “what’s the different between different grips”
An overhand grip is typically going to target the upper/inner back muscles and the underhand grip is typically going to target the lower back including the lats (and some traps)
You will want your hands to be placed a bit wider than shoulder width apart for both grips, although everyone’s body mechanics are different so do what feels most comfortable for you! 💖
One way you can work up to barbell rows as a beginner is dual dumbbell rows or using the EZbar :)
