Everyone’s new favourite udon place!! 🤤

Recently, we went down to Umai to try their udon because it is opened by Omote and we all know how good Omote’s menu is!!! 🤤 They specialise in 4 types of popular Japanese handmade udon noodles & these are the dishes that we ordered:

✧ Yakiniku Udon - $16

Was a recommendation by a friend but it also looked pretty good so we ordered this. The broth is flavourful & they were generous with the ingredients in the dish, super yummy!! It was similar to that of our usual ramen broth but with udon noodles instead.

✧ Truffle Tako - $16

This was so so good, super worth the value & definitely not something that you should be missing out on. Really love the crispiness of the tempura topping together with the chewy squid and the truffle sauce!!! Super flavourful as well, but might be a little jelak after some time so please only order if you’re sharing!

✧ mini Butaya Don - $8

Was a little afraid of over-ordering so we got this just to try! It was pretty decent and average. The butaya pieces were seasoned well & the Japanese egg was perfect 👌🏼 Please try all their udon dishes first before going for the don because it’s what they specialise in!

✧ Cold Udon - $18

This one’s my favourite!!! I love how QQ the noodles are, and they ate super wide in size which was pretty interesting. And of course don’t forget to slurp it after dipping in the peanut sesame dipping sauce! It was savoury and cold, but super yummy! If you’re not one who likes sweet & savoury food together, I’d recommend you to try other dishes!

Overall, I would recommend y’all to try this udon place out as it is really different from other udon places in SG and they’re really that tasty. I will definitely be back to try out the other dishes in their menu!!!! 🤭❤️
