Save This For Your Graduation Photoshoot 📸🤳🏻

Graduating from university is a huge milestone that deserves to be celebrated in style! My friends graduated a year earlier than I did and so we decided to hold our graduation shoot early last year. We took our photos at Photograf studios and also held our own photoshoot at our school compound.

👉🏻  SELF-TIMER STUDIOS

Self-timer studios are still pretty popular as the go-to place for graduation photoshoots - you don’t have to prepare anything other than your graduation gown and hence makes photo taking a lot easier! They can also accommodate friend groups easily, and those that provide props also make candid shots a lot more fun!

👉🏻  DEFINITE MUST-HAVES/DOS

If you’re thinking about what to bring apart from your graduation gown, I’d say to BRING SHADES. If you guys are looking for the cool aesthetic, having shades on hand are a definite must! I think it also definitely creates a different photo style compared to those standard group shots where you and your friends are smiling at the camera!

Prior to your photoshoot, have a quick scan on Pinterest to look for graduation poses! I had a whole Pinterest board planned the night before for my friends and I to follow and emulate on the day of the shoot. With limited sunlight, it’s important to get that shot when you can!

👉🏻  ICONIC POSES

Apart from the various group smiling poses and faculty or facility shots around your school campus, why not try some dynamic and (sort of) hilarious poses? My friends and I decided to try out what I think are *three* iconic poses that you’ll fondly look back on –

(1) The Album Cover: Remember the shades I talked about? This is where it comes in handy - this gives such a cool vibe especially when you and your friends agree on giving serious looks. It’s honestly my favorite pose out of all the poses we tried!

(2) Prayer Hands: I’d say this is just hilarious energy for all the times we say “praying for my GPA”. You can always look back fondly and think about the pain and suffering you went through!

(3) Camera Close-Ups: Simply use your hands to frame the shot! It creates a dynamic look and feel, giving that professional photography energy. If you want a cuter look, try having two of your friends frame the camera by holding hands in a heart and having the others pose within the heart, super adorable!
