Graduation tips?!?!? 👩🏻‍🎓🎓🖤

With graduation season coming up, here’s some tips I have to share from my own grad last year.

🔹 BE PREPARED!!!!

With the weather being so hot and humid nowadays.. i’m sure nobody wants to look yucky and sweaty on their graduation day. I went to my friend’s house to get ready before grad and her parents sent us to school afterwards. That saved us a lot of time. I would recommend to grab to school since you will have to bring a lot of barang barang with you (flower, gown etc). That way you won’t appear in school all sweaty too.

🔹It’s your big day, be Grad ready

Prior to grad I went shopping for a new dress and a new pair of heels and i’m so glad I did that. It definitely elevated the whole experience of graduating. Shop for a new fit and make yourself feel extra pretty on that day.

Also about a week before grad I went to get my hair done, 100% recommend especially if you had dyed hair prior to this. Go get your roots touched up so they don’t look crusty af in your photos.

🔹 PICTURES!

After the ceremony, it’s going to be hectic af with everyone running around looking for their friends and family to take photos with them. I would say find a spot that you can stay at and gather all your friends + family there so you don’t have to run around everywhere in your heels.

Also DON’T RUSH‼️take your time when it comes to taking photos with everyone to ensure that the photos are good. For some of you, this might be your last graduation so make the photos count.

🔹What’s next???

To wrap up the day, I would say plan for a meal/activity after the ceremony. My graduation was at 4.30pm and so my friends planned a dinner for me at RISE afterwards. Though I would say maybe bring along an extra pair of shoes + outfit to change out of afterwards. By the end of the day, my feet were killing me because of all the walking + climbing of stairs. And cause I chose to wear a tight fitting dress, it was definitely not it for a buffet dinner. I had to go up to the hotel room to change out into a comfy set of clothes.

I ended the day with a staycaytion at MBS and it really made my grad feel special.

🔹Graduation photoshoot 🎉

Lastly, book a graduation photoshoot with your friends!! My closest poly friends and I booked a photoshoot with Photopia and it was the best decision we made. It was not only a fun experience, it also left us with pretty photos that we could keep forever.

Looking back, I have no regrets making my poly graduation such a big deal. Though to some it may be just a graduation and ofc to a lot of us we still have our university graduation coming up next so this might not seem like a big deal but just do whatever you want!! I did not go nights of staying up for assignments just to let my graduation be a day like any other day. So moral of the story is.. YOU DO YOU. Do what makes you happy 😆 I hope all of y’all have a good graduation next month too! 🎓
