One thing I started doing this year was to make sure I EAT BREAKFAST. And being a part of the majority of the population, I usually wake up with just enough time to prep and go out or to start working from home, which means I HAVE NO TIME TO MAKE BREAKFAST 😱
Well well well, to combat this annoying habit, I started making overnight oats so I can just take them out of the fridge in the mornings and EAT.
I’ve put the recipes in the pictures, but the base for the oats are basically:
• 40g Rolled Oats
• 80g Milk (I use oat milk)
• 10g Maple Syrup/Honey
• Dash of cinnamon
With this base, you can add your fruits as you please to make different combinations!
Tips for overnight oats:
📌 If you don’t like cold oats, pop them in the microwave for 30s to 1min to warm them up
📌 Oats are slow release carb so you’ll feel full for a longer time in the morning
📌 You can prep up to 3-4 jars of oats at a time
📌 Use rolled or steel-cut oats. DO NOT use quick/instant oats as they’re more processed, and may turn to mush overnight
📌 Play with your milk ratios as somethings the consistency can end up gooey if you put in too much milk
📌 Add a pinch of salt for that extra level of flavour and to cut the sweetness
I hope these help and show you that clean eating and breakfast can be made simple with these steps! Once I figured out how to make my overnight oats properly, I just fell in love with making them 🤤
