The diet industry has made us think that losing weight has to be complicatedâŠand well miserableâŠ
Now donât get me wrong losing weight isnât always easy, because it does take diet and lifestyle change and those things arenât always easy - especially if you are trying to change habits youâve had for years or even decadesâŠand that can be hard at first.
But it doesnât have to complicated.
Weâve been taught we need:
âąTo count calories
âąHave the perfect macros
âąWeigh measure and track everything we eat
âąMake every meal into a complicated math problem
âąBe hungry
âąCompletely change your life to fit the diet youâre on
âąHave a lot of willpowerâŠ
âąEtcâŠetcâŠectâŠ
But you know what? You donât need any of thatâŠđ€«
In fact all of that will actually make any weight you do lose very hard to maintain.đ€Ż
Instead focus on these 5 things:
1. Eat real food most of the time - reduce or eliminate added sugar, seed oils, and ultra processed foods
2. Have a high protein breakfast and make this the biggest meal of your day
3. Focus all your meals on PFF - Protein, Healthy Fat, and Fiber - prioritizing protein at each meal - when you do this is will help you to stay fuller longer
4. Eat when youâre hungry, donât when youâre not - before you eat get in the habit of asking yourself âam I actually hungry?â - If you are, eat. If youâre not, just wait until you are.
5. When you are hungry have meals rather than snacking and grazing.
