Michelin steamed dumplings - must try in Kaohsiung

If you are in Kaohsiung, you should definitely check out Beiping Yang Bao Bao Steam Dumpling !

You will notice the store from the long queues forming at the entrance. The queuing process is easy - get a number, take a menu and decide on what to order, and wait for your number to be called.

🍽️ We went slightly before 12 noon and queued for about 25 minutes before getting in. We might have been overzealous and ordered a little too much for 2 pax.

🌽 Corn soup (NTD 40, SGD 1.75)

Corn soup at a Taiwanese restaurant?! Sounds weird but it was so freaking good! It’s like drinking liquid corn!

🍲 Beef soup (NTD 70, SGD 3)

The soup contained a slices of beef and the broth was on the lighter side. That was just nice for me since it’s breakfast.

🥟 Gyoza (NTD 80, SGD 3.50)

The gyozas were pan fried nicely and it was crispy on one side and soft on the other. The meat filling was also quite generous and the gyozas were bursting with juice.

🐷 Steamed pork dumpling (NTD 80, SGD 3.50)

The skin of the dumpling was chewy and did not taste too doughy while the meat fillings were generous with sufficient amount of soup to make it enjoyable.

🌯 Beef burrito (NTD 90, SGD 4)

You can’t really go wrong with scallion pancake and beef! I might be biased but I really enjoy this combination! The beef was tender and complemented well with the crispy pancake.

🫓 Scallion pancake (NTD 40, SGD 1.75)

The scallion pancakes are crispy and fragrant and is a thicker version of the pancake on the beef burrito. Really enjoyed this too but could have skipped it since it’s also on the beef burrito.

👍 Overall, this was such a satisfying meal and we will really recommend everyone to try it!
