My Crispy Baked Tofu Recipe! 🤩
Looking for a simple, healthy, delicious, and crispy tofu recipe? This baked tofu is perfect for adding to salads, sandwiches, rice bowls, or even enjoying on its own! Here’s how to make it with just a few ingredients.
Ingredients:
• 1 block firm or extra-firm tofu (drained and patted dry)
• 2 1/2 tbsp corn starch
• 1 tsp onion powder
• 1/2 tsp garlic powder
• 1/2 tsp Tony Chachere’s Original Creole Seasoning (optional, for a bit of spice)
• Non-stick spray
• Salt, pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with non-stick spray.
2. Prepare the tofu: After draining and pressing the tofu, cut it into bite-sized cubes.
3. Season the tofu: Lightly sprinkle salt over the tofu cubes before coating.
4. Coat the tofu: In a medium-sized bowl, mix the corn starch, onion powder, garlic powder, and Tony Chachere’s seasoning (if using). Toss the tofu cubes in the mixture until evenly coated.
5. Bake: Spread the coated tofu evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Spray the top lightly with non-stick spray. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy on all sides.
6. Serve: Once out of the oven, season with a bit more salt to taste if needed. Enjoy your crispy baked tofu as a snack, or add it to your favorite salads, bowls, or wraps!
Tip:
1. Check out my recipe for my homemade sweet teriyaki sauce. It goes great with this and rice!
2. Drizzle with honey for a pop of sweetness.
3. Add a pit of sugar when adding seasoning to give a pop of salty and sweet.
4. Top with sesame seeds for an added crunch.
