the easiest, go-to, one-pot, ricecooker meal!! 👏🏻
main ingredients ✨ (serves 2-3)
1 cabbage (i used half and saved the other half for beehoon)
rice (amount depends on the number of ppl eating - 0.5cups per person, i used 1 cup)
3-4 dried mushroom
ingredients for mushroom sauce 🍄
hot water (enough to cover the shrooms)
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp light soy sauce
2 tsp dark soy sauce
3 tbsp oyster sauce
a dash of black pepper
a dash of sesame oil
optional ingredients 🥕
carrot
goji berries
abalone
roast pork
steps 🌷
1. soak and soften mushroom in hot water, sugar, light&dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, pepper, sesame oil - all in 1 bowl!
2. while allowing mushroom to soften, wash rice and drain water (it is ok if there's some water left 🤩)
3. slice mushrooms, and place on top of rice
4. pour mushroom sauce into rice, until desired level
**since i am cooking 1 cup rice, i will pour in sauce until "1" indicator, which is on the rice cooker bowl (i drew an arrow in pic 4)
**if not enough sauce, top up with water
5. tear cabbage and add into ricecooker bowl
6. add other optional toppings (i used abalone and goji berries, but chopped carrots are nice too!)
7. cook with normal white rice cooking mode!
8. mix well, taste! (if too salty: add sugar, if not salty enough: add more oyster sauce; then mix again)
9. serve 🥢
possible amendments to recipe:
🌼 soak mushrooms overnight
🌼 mix before cooking? so that the cabbage can absorb the sauces too
