hey mama, i see you. i know this journey can feel heavy sometimes, and it doesn’t always look the way people think. postpartum depression isn’t just about constant sadness — it can show up in so many different ways, and no matter how it shows up for you, your feelings are valid.

maybe you’ve felt waves of sadness, or maybe it’s anger, anxiety, or even a sense of detachment from those you love. it can come as a heaviness you carry, making it hard to enjoy moments you thought you’d cherish. for some, it’s a constant feeling, but for others, it comes and goes, leaving you wondering why some days are harder than others. both are normal, and it’s okay to feel this way.

if you’re recognizing any of these symptoms, know that you’re not alone. postpartum emotions are real, and it’s okay to talk about them. you deserve to be supported — if your partner is having a hard time understanding what you’re going through, it might help to sit down and have an open, honest conversation about how you’re feeling. sometimes, sharing resources or even inviting them to join you at a doctor’s appointment can help bridge that gap. your feelings are real and deserve to be heard, and with patience, they can learn how to better support you.

beyond physical support, I personally have found that journaling has been one of the things that’s helped me the most on days when i feel a little off balance. putting my thoughts on paper gives me a moment to reflect and breathe. if you’re not sure where to start, i’ve shared some journal prompts on my page that might help guide you through these feelings.

no matter what you’re going through, know that you are seen, you are loved, and you’re doing an amazing job — ppd does not define who you are as a mama. don’t ever hesitate to reach out for support when you need it. you’ve got this, and you’re not alone. 🤎

‼️and of course, if you’re feeling the urge to hurt yourself or baby please do not hesitate to contact your doctor. ‼️
