Go back 15 years and see the girl who was getting ready to walk into one of these rooms to be questioned about one of the most traumatic experiences in her entire life. First thing I would do is put my arms around her and squeeze her as hard as I could. I wouldn’t let her go. I’d be right there until she felt safe enough to process what the hell was happening around her. I would tell her none of what happened was her fault and her stepmother is a vile creature for even suggesting the resolution. I would tell her it was okay to be angry at the adults in her life, they failed her miserably. I’d make sure she knew she wasn’t the problem and anyone who suggests that she is even a little bit is the problem. #traumatic #cptsdawareness #traumaticpast
