Do you find yourself saying “I will go to the gym when people are …. (At work, busy, blah blah)” ?

Well, you’re in luck because you don’t even have to leave your house to find good movement!! I have a perfect little challenge for you, and all you need is a couch, or chair!

BULGARIAN SPLIT SQUAT:

If you’re up for it, you can even incorporate some plyos by adding a little jump! But focus on your gaze not being so high, relax the gaze to help the neck to spine alignment! You want your knee above your ankle, not behind and not in front!

TRICEP DIPS:

There are a few ways you can do these! You can either bend your legs at 90° and use them as a slight support, or do what I showed, and really challenge yourself to push with those triceps! Slow and controlled is going to be your best friend/worst nightmare!

STEP UPS:

step ups on a couch can be a bit difficult, so I recommend a chair. Speaking from experience 🤣 but focus on pushing through the ankle and using that single leg. Again, slow and controlled is going to be the main focus as you step up and down! This movement is the WORST BEST thing ever. It even helps with balance and core too!

PUSH UPS:

A really important thing to note when doing push ups is to NOT over push up to where your shoulders are doing an unintentional hunched back. It’s actually quite dangerous for your shoulder sockets. Focus on the push and burn between your triceps and biceps! Also keep your arms close to your sides of your body.

SQUAT:

Super simple, but super fun end to the home workout! Use the couch/chair as a good guidance as to when to go back up. This exercise it is okay if your knee is slightly over your heels! Again, have a gentle gaze to help with spine alignment. if you want to get extra crazy, and 50 pulses at the end to really feel the burn!

Working out should NEVER feel scary. If it does, that’s OKAY! But don’t limit yourself to the gym. There are THOUSANDS of ways to stay active, I mean, I just used my couch! What’s stopping you?
