I have previously shared on my experience completing 200h Yoga Teacher Training with Tirisula Yoga 🧘🏽‍♀️ it’s made up with different components to make up the 200h & for today, i’d like to share more on the physical exam poses which we were tested on! *P.S the exam was taken in June & it may have changes for the next batch*

Students will have to remember the name of the poses in sanskrit, & our mats are all facing the walls in different directions (to avoid looking at other students 🫣)

There’s a total of 20; 18 poses + Sun salutation A,B + Pranayama.

Uditha Trikonasana - 10 breaths

Parivrita Trikonasana - 10 breaths

Uditha Parsvakonasana - 10 breaths

Parivrita Parsvakonasana - 10 breaths

Prasarita Padottanasana C - 10 breaths

Uditha Hatha Padangusthasana - 10 breaths

Marichiasana A - 10 breaths

Marichiasana B - 10 breaths

Marichiasana C - 10 breaths

Ubaya Padangusthasana - 5 breaths

Navasana - 60 seconds

Bakasana - 60 seconds

Sarvangasana - 60seconds

Urdava Danurasana - 60 seconds

Santolasana - 60 seconds

Chaturanga - 30 seconds

Adho Mukha Swanasana - 3mins

Sirsasana - 3mins

with Surya Namaskar A,B & Pranayama 🧘🏽‍♀️

& no we won’t fail if we can’t do any of the poses or can’t hold that long, we’ll just score lesser marks 😅

I didn’t manage to hold my Sirsasana for 3mins & learnt that I should meditate awhile to release the tension before exam 😔

Above all, the physical exam poses are only a fraction of the yoga teacher training. Yoga is beyond the asanas alone. It is also mental & spiritual, our master will also assess on our training journey, & will give credit where it’s due ❣️

For any of you taking up YTT in the future, don’t worry too much on perfecting the poses, not everyone/teacher can do every pose! 200h is definitely not enough to cover the teachings on a deeper level. So enjoy your journey along the way & I wish you the best on your mat 💞
