hidden 30 Y/O Sumiyaki Restaurant 🍢

no longer gate-keeping one of my favourite places to eat in Singapore that I’ve been visiting since years ago 🥹 they have been absolutely consistent with the quality of food 🥰 and I’ve known people who have religiously visited this place for over 10 years now 🤯

here’s what we got:

japanese sweet potato 🍠 \

HEAR ME OUT ✋🏻 they roast this over charcoal for 1.5hrs 😱 so its really cooked through and the sweetness just bursts out 🥹 its so understated but 👨🏻‍🍳💋 order this the moment you get seated 🫣

if you haven’t already heard, shirako = cod milt aka FISH SPERMS ! usually its pretty fishy/briny but the ponzu sauce completely masks that leaving you with a tangy and creamy mouthfeel 🥰 feels like im in heaven ☁️

Cold Tomatoes w/ Salt 🍅 \ $10

another underrated dish - a simple appetiser but these tomatoes are so sweet and juicy !! simply add a touch of salt for more flavour 😋

chicken breast cartilage \ $4 per stick

quail eggs \ $2 per stick

hotate (scallops)

Sashimi Moriawase \ $50 or $80

one of my go-to trustee place for affordable and FRESH Sashimi 😌

we also had Baby Conger Eels with ponzu and since they were in season it was super fresh and sweet 😋
