Hi everyone!!

My name is yuki, and i am 20 yo:) I have had reoccurring cystic acne since i was 12 yo ( if u do the math, it has been 8 long & painful years 🥲 ) ^ The pictures above shows my skin condition now vs when i was struggling with acne again in JC2.

I was bullied quite badly in sec sch due to my acne. People would call me volcano face, pimple face, etc.. It really ruined my self esteem and i was extremely depressed throughout the past 8 years.

I have tried every pill, diet and skincare routine there is to “ get rid of the acne “ , and from my personal experience, there is no permanent magic solution… 💔☹️

I have been to numerous dermatologists and took antibiotics, topical creams , that would clear my acne for about half a year, just for it to come back again. After spending thousands and thousands of $$ on my skin, i personally, think the best solution is ✨ACCUTANE✨

Here is my guide to getting accutane in sg:)

1. Cheapest option:

- get a referral letter from polyclinic to go to national skin centre

- you will get an appointment about 4-6 months away from your initial polyclinic visit. ( meanwhile, the gp in polyclinic wld likely prescribe you with some antibiotics and topical creams that may work temporarily)

- depending on your derm in NSC, they may prescribe you with other forms of antibiotic first before prescribing you accutane. You can try to req for it.

- Personally, i feel like this process is takes WAY TOO LONG !! However, if you are not able to afford priv clinics, this wld be the best way for u!

2. Private dermatologist clinic.

- This is the current method i use after National skin centre bc its much more efficient.

- However, it is extremely costly… depending on your dosage of accutane + blood test costs, it would cost you about $250-$460 per month☠️

- The pros is that the dermatologist will 100% prescribe you with accutane :) unlike NSC where they make you try every antibiotic avail as accutane is the last resort thr.

- The dermatologist i go to is APAX medical & aesthetics clinic, located in junction 10! I went to this clinic as their consult fees was the cheapest one out of all the priv derms in sg. The doctor is really nice as well🫶

3. Random GP

- Personally never tried this option, but someone close to me has tried it.

- Definitely cheaper than a private dermatologist! if cost is your no.1 concern but udw to wait half a year to set an appointment with a dermatologist, u shld definitely try this!

- However, not every GP prescribes accutane, you would have to find a clinic that would. It would cost ~$200 per visit to get your pills:)

- The only GP i know that prescribes accutane is Dr Chan Clinic in hougang. (530212)
