Woes of dealing with adult acne😪 + what helped!

Acne is such a pain in the ass and sad to say there’s also adult acne and not just puberty period acne urgh😵‍💫 The past year or so my skin has had its ups and downs due to unpredictable hormonal imbalances🥺 The problematic area is always my chin area and the doctors i visited all say it’s likely due to hormones!

I’ve tried several things to help battle the chin acne! I would say the most effective one was oral antibiotics (doxycycline). It really helped lower inflammation and kept my skin free of acne! However i don’t like to take antibiotics long term as I don’t want to be reliant on it… and i’m afraid that the efficacy of the medication will drop if i take it long term☹️

So on a day to day basis, i added quite a few skincare products that are supposed to help with acne, as well as try to go for regular facials and use clay masks weekly to deep cleanse the skin! When i get large cystic pimples that are hella painful, i sometimes go for steroid jabs at aesthetic clinics to help it flatten quickly and fight inflammation too.

Dealing with acne can be a very painful, expensive and long process! Hang in there if you’re facing similar issues!!🥺🫶
