It has to be good if someone wrote an essay right?

Got an notification from Reddit one day and tada! here I am.

My theory is that if someone bothered to write paragraphs to recommend a certain drama it has to be decent at least right?

Here’s what caught my eye this week on Reddit.

📺 The Double 墨雨云间 (2024)

It’s the new drama that everyone is talking about, new episodes are still being released. So every time a new ep comes out, Reddit blows up and everyone is discussing it. It’s so hard to find a post without spoilers to screenshot, but I’m definitely intrigued.

➡️ Synopsis: When celebrity newcomer Lu Wan-wan accidentally blows up the server's number one ranked player, actress Han Jing-mo, she begins a relationship with him to try and save face. However, the fakes emotions make way for real ones.

📺 To The Wonder 我的啊勒泰 (2024)

The first Chinese long form drama to be featured at the Canneseries (Cannes International Series Festival), need I say more?? It’s based on a book by a famous Chinese writer Li Juan about nomadic life in Uygur. Just sounds like a wholesome drama that I would love!!

➡️ Synopsis: Li Wenxiu, a Han girl from Altay, dreams of becoming a writer in a big city. She faces challenges and returns home, working at her mother's store. Meeting Kazakh boy Batay, she discovers the local beauty.

📺 With You 在一起·同行 (2020)

A drama series based on true events that happened during Covid pandemic in China. It features 10 different stories about people from different walks of life. It’s super interesting to get a glimpse of what Covid was like there (let’s not discuss accuracy here). Though it’s quite old now, somehow it popped up with I was scrolling Reddit 🤷‍♀️ (plus point: Yang Yang!!!😍)

➡️ Synopsis: A young man mistakenly landed in Wuhan station and lock-down within the city. Homeless on the street, he decided to work as a hospital janitor with the name of his hometown "Dalian" till the lock-down was lifted.

I already have too many dramas on my list that I can’t finish but just can’t help it!! Drama names in the comments 😊
