How I feel about being in the Marine Corps.

So before the Marine Corps, I didn’t really have anything going for me after I graduated high school. I was working for Amazon 5 times a week only getting 2 days off. I was in an extremely toxic relationship that belittled me everyday so I never knew I could be more than what my Ex led me to believe. But one day, my mindset changed. I realized that I needed to do something to get me out of my small hometown and be able to see the world. So I contacted the Marine Corps recruiters and here I am today. Do I have regrets, most definitely but the Marine Corps has shaped me into such an amazing person and introduced me to my husband. The Marine Corps has shown me a deeper meaning into family, and how family doesn’t just have to be people you are blood related to, it’s people you share the same stories with, people who have went through the same stuff as you, people you grow deeper bonds with and can call your sisters and brothers. It also helped me so much with knowing that I have a worth, maybe not in some peoples eyes but I have a place in this world. I want to make a change while I am in the Marine Corps and I believe that is why I am here today, living everyday to work towards being able to make the Marine Corps a better place for my future brothers and sisters to come into. So to end this off, I’ll just list some of the pros and cons in my eyes.
Pros:
-Being able to travel the world
-Meeting new people who you get to call your family
-Fighting for your country
-Just being able to claim the title of A United States Marine is huge in my eyes
-New experiences everyday
-Learning my self worth and realizing I have a place in this world
Cons:
-being away from family
-sometimes long schoolhouses to learn your job
And I would say that’s really it, the Marine Corps is, in my eyes, the best decision I have ever made other than my husband but without the Marine Corps, I wouldn’t even have him so I have to think the lord everyday that he put me here.
