if you lurk tiktok pretty frequently like me, you might have come across videos of people trying out the 12-3-30 treadmill workout 🏃‍♀️ in case you don’t know what it is, here’s what the (in)famous workout is about 👇

1. 12 refers to the incline.

2. 3 refers to the speed in miles, which is 4.82km/h, but i like to round it up to 5km/h.

3. 30 refers to the duration, which is 30 minutes!

lemme just start by saying that as someone who has been exercising consistently 3-4x/week, an hour each session for the previous 2 years, this is definitely NOT a beginner-friendly workout 🤡

the incline is what kills, and at 12 it’s rly no joke … by the 10th min i was breathing p hard & by the 20th min i was completely breathless LOL … it rly took everything in me to power through the last 10 min and complete the full 30 min 💀

it did help a bit to plug in my airpods & stream Friends on my ipad to distract myself from the pain, but then again not much hahaha … would highly recco you to do smth similar bcos it is really quite a brutal treadmill workout 🤡

the result?

approx 200 calories burned in 30 mins, with close to 3600 steps clocked in! overall pretty impressed with the amount burned from a treadmill workout in a short duration too 🔥

🍋 finally, even tho i found this workout to be quite a killer one, i don’t think my experience should deter you from trying it out if you’re keen! if you’re just starting out, you don’t have to pressure yourself to immediately hit the full 30 min on your first go. you can always start by doing 12-3-10/15 or 8-3-30 and slowly ramping up the incline or duration when you get more comfortable 🏃‍♀️

after all, your fitness journey should make you feel stronger & more empowered, so i feel that this workout is a def worth a try to build your endurance & stamina! ❤️‍🔥
