I ran my FIRST half marathon. Like what??? The farthest I have ever ran before was 7 miles and that was almost 2 years ago, so this just shows you can do anything you set your mind to. You can do more than you even think, and to help you, here are some tips I have found that really help if you want to run your first half marathon!

First:

GO SLOW. I used to try and get 7 minute miles the entire time, and that just was not sustainable for me in a long distance run. Now, I go exactly how fast my body wants to go, and sometimes that is an 8 minute mile, and sometimes that is a 10-11 minute mile. Nobody is pushing you to sprint to make a certain time.

Second:

Wear biker shorts!!! This makes long distance running so much more comfortable, and was a blessing during my half marathon. You don't want to have to stop because your chaffing is uncomfortable, when you know you can run longer.

Third:

Find sneakers that you LOVE and are so comfortable. I have tried so many sneakers, and I swear the Lululemon sneakers work so well for my feet.
