A guide to food at Pula Ubin

Though the island is small, it has 3-4 food options! They are small locally owned shops all with their charms. You can find classic Singaporean food like bee hoon, nasi lemak, curry puffs etc and a few snack stores. Due to the small kitchen size, the food are all pre-cooked and pre-packaged. I tried out a burger and sardine puff at Kampong 22@Ubin and there must be something about island food that taste like nostaglia. Reminds of school canteen days, grabbing a quick bite during recess.

Oh and pro tip from the locals - while there are a few seat down seafood restaurant, the kitchens are small and there’s a decent crowd so expect a long wait time for your food. Also the Malay store is only open on weekends though! So if you’re visiting on a weekday and require halal food, best to bring your own. Most stores closes by 6pm so dinner isn’t an option either.

There’s enough coffee and food to make for a good meal after exploring the island but I don’t think there’s plenty of options per say. If you’re looking for more food, Changi food village back on the mainland will be a better tip!
