i’ve been into sports and lifting for a while now, and last january i decided to set a new goal for myself: run my first 1/2 marathon!
i’ve come a long way and thought it would be interesting to share some tips as someone who is still in the beginner phase of calling herself a runner (lol)
1️⃣ start small
you’re first run will suck and will probably be really hard. you’ll probably ask yourself why you’re actually doing this (😅) but it does get easier, and so much more fun. don’t be hard on yourself when you start.
2️⃣ change it up — especially if you get bored easily.
you don’t always need to run longer distances. try sprints and intervals! it’s a great way to build your endurance and challenge yourself in different ways
3️⃣ use an app or a running program
i’ve been using the nike run club app. it has different running programs with guided runs. i especially love this for sprint and interval trainings — it’s almost like you have your own personal running coach + it’s completely free!
