Viral Character Bun Restaurant

The cutest character buns! Haru Mama in Carlsbad is known for their insanely adorable sweet and savory buns and mouth-watering Asian fusion dishes! These things have been all over social media and now I totally get why! Their hand-decorated character buns come in a variety of fillings like pulled pork, chicken, custard and nutella. We tried the ground beef cow buns and matcha-filled turtle buns, which were fluffy, flavorful and super unique. They also offer to-go bun boxes that you can steam up at home - how fun!

The menu has a great variety of other fun & crave-able dishes like crab & lobster ramen, duck chashu, bulgogi fries, pan-fried noodles and so much more. I loved my power protein poke bowl and it was huuuuge and loaded up with a ton of fresh fish but I have a lot more on the menu to try next time! It’s kinda quaint inside with a few tables but service was great & speedy and everyone was very friendly! There’s also a parking lot right behind, which is great since Carlsbad can get really busy. Check them out when you’re in the area!
