NYC | The Best Bun I’ve ever had in Chinatown!

I heard about this restaurant three years ago, known for its delicious buns and other snacks. However, they often close early in the evenings, so I never had the chance to buy from there. Today, I finally managed to make it before they closed. The location of the shop is a bit hard to find, as the surrounding stores on the basement level of the shopping center are already closed, but this particular shop is still open for business.

Their steamed buns are the most famous dish, six of them for only $4.5. I think this price is quite rare even in the US, especially in Manhattan. These buns are the best I've ever had; the meat filling is slightly sweet, and there's a lot of juicy soup inside. The dough is soft and chewy, providing a delightful texture.

🥟Bamboo Shoot Cake $2.5

This type of cake is made differently. It's unique, covered with white sesame seeds on top, and the meat inside is in large chunks with many irregularities. The texture is crispy and pleasant, and the meat is firm and has a strong umami flavor. I really like this one!
