On my trip back to Brisbane, one of my friends recommended Christian Jacques Artisan Boulanger (yes the name is a mouthful I know) and even vouched that it was better than the ever so famous "Lune Croissanterie"!! ๐ค
OF COURSE WE HAD TO TRY IT.
It was indeed AMAZING. GUYS. I can't even explain properly because I'm so afraid of butchering it because it's THAT GOOD. ๐ฅบ๐ฅบ
Hailing from Paris, all pastries are handmade and baked in-house every morning (mind you they open at 0600 ๐ณ)! All ingredients are also imported directly from France, ensuring the exact same quality that you can find there in their Brisbane outlet.
For me, I order the Almond croissants from both Lune and Christian Jacques to compare, and I definitely must say, Christian Jacques had a better edge to this.
What made me say this would be how I compared the airy-ness/air pockets And flakey-ness of the croissant.
You can tell from the size of the air pockets (it was a different croissant that I took for this), it has fluffed up well after baking and the texture was super flakey due to the layering of the dough.
It was just everything I needed in the croissant. It was just so good that I visited for 3 days straight every morning to queue for these pastries !!๐
