If you haven’t read Atomic Habits YOU’RE MISSING OUT! Reading that book was life changing.
Habits that have changed my life:
NIGHTLY
-Cleaning the kitchen up after putting the kids to bed! This may sound like a no brainer or not important, but waking up to a clean kitchen that doesn’t have bottles, cups, plates, toys, etc. everywhere sets me up for a good day. Every night after I put the kids to bed, I clean the bottles or table off and have it clean and ready for the next morning!
-Laying out my workout outfit: This keeps me on track for my workouts and takes one small step towards getting to the gym in the morning. I truly feel that a cute workout outfit and something you are comfortable in makes your workouts better!
-Filling up my half gallon: I drink a gallon of water a day and have a half gallon jug. I fill my half gallon every single night before going to bed and put it in the fridge for the next day. This sets me up for success because I can just grab it in the morning and start drinking. Before I used to do this, I would find myself at Noon trying to find my water bottle to fill up. Filling it up the night before sets me up for success with my goal of drinking a gallon a day.
-Skincare routine: I NEVER ever ever skip this step. No matter how late it is or how tired I am, I ALWAYS do my skincare routine!
WEEKLY
Planning out my week: I am such a planner. Having a game plan for the week allows me to hit my goals and plan out when I can do the things I need to do for me, my kids, and my husband.
Scheduling my workouts: Each week on Saturday or Sunday I schedule my workout days on my calendar on my iPhone. This gives me a clear picture of when I can go to the gym, when I need childcare (if my husbands working) and which days do/do not work for the gym. This ensures I hit my 5 workouts a week. Also at one of my gyms some of the classes book up, so I have to schedule them through the app ahead of time.
Prepping my meals: Perhaps one of the most important steps!! Nutrition is everything and it’s so important to plan ahead. For me, I prep my meals once or twice a week and have them on hand in my fridge ready for me to eat. I track through the MFP app and have everything inputted ahead of time. With kids- sometimes its chaos and having my meals ready to heat saves me so much time and keeps me from going off track.
Intuitive eating day: Each week I figure out which day my intuitive eating day will be. Sometimes this changes, but having a clear idea of which day it will be sets me up for success for all the days leading up to and after that day. If I know I have dinner plans on Friday night, Friday will be my intuitive eating day because I know I won’t be tracking that meal. If I don’t have plans for the week, my husband and I will normally decide together which day we want our intuitive eating day to be! This keeps us on track and hitting our goals the other 6 days!
Let me know if you have any questions or want more detail on any of this! Happy to help!!
