Homemade brown sugar puff pastry pop tarts with chai icing : the puff pastry makes these super quick, and also adds allllll the flaky delicious layers π
Ingredients:
β puff pastry (thaw according to package instructions)
β 3/4 cup brown sugar
β 2 1/2 tbs melted butter
β 1 tsp cinnamon
β 1 tsp vanilla
β 1 cup powdered sugar
β a few spoonfuls of strong chai
β 1 tsp cinnamon
How to:
1. Thaw puff pastry according to instructions and preheat your oven to 400Β°.
2. Combine brown sugar, melted butter, 1 tsp of cinnamon, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.
3. Slice the puff pastry into your pop tart shapes, and fill with a small spoonful of brown sugar filling.
4. Use a fork to poke holes in the top and gently seal the sides together.
5. Bake for 15-17 minutes until puffy and just turning golden.
6. While baking, make a strong cup of chai and set aside.
7. Combine powdered sugar with 1 tsp cinnamon and a few spoonfuls of chai tea until it reaches a glaze consistency.
8. Glaze pop tarts and enjoy!
