UMAI UDON WAS OK…

Went to try the highly raved umai udon ytd , opened by the same people behind Omote, and I thought it was just ok…

The queue moved pretty fast, food came pretty fast.

We ordered 2 mains - the cold himokawa udon set and the yakibuta soup set. And 2 sides- truffle tako and hiratake shrooms. Total damage came to $85.13!

Cold udon was not bad but not sure if it’s just me but it wasn’t like Chewy hahaha it was ok… I will rate it 3.9/5 , tempura was good!! The soup udon was quite bad imo, the wok hei taste was overly overly overpowering , i couldn’t enjoy the soup, and the noodles was quite soggy and soft, however the slab of meat was good.

The two sides ordered were super good!! Loved the mushroom , but the tako got a little gelat after awhile also cause portion was q big!!

Overall rating it a 3.8/5. And I wouldn’t mind coming back to try other stuff !!
