Cable Tricep Pushdown VS Standing Straight Arm Pulldown🔥
I wanted to breakdown these two DIFFERENT upper body cable exercises, because I see a lot people struggle with them.
And when they are performed wrong they sometimes begin to look like each other😬 so here’s a few key points:
Tricep Pushdown:
- Isolates the tricep muscle
DO’S ✅
- Brace your core
- Tuck your elbows
- Push down until your elbows are fully extended
DON’TS❌
- Elbows flaring out
- Using your back
Standing Straight Arm Pulldown:
- Isolates and Strengthens Lat Muscles
DO’S ✅
- Hinge your hips to bend your torso slightly
- Keep your arms straight
- Pull the bar down toward your thighs in a wide, sweeping arc
- Engage your core
DON’TS❌
- Using weight that’s too heavy
- Bending your arms (using your triceps)
Both of these exercises are great for building a toned upper body💪🏽
