a) take a step out of your comfort zone - open up a tiny window your have build within your castle, and slowly let someone (trustworthy enough) into it. the trust works both ways, and this other person would feel it too
*you may build this trust by โstretching your zoneโ i.e. by sharing something a little personal, but not too overwhelming, and if the person reciprocates, you know youโre able to connect with a deeper level of understanding
b) create a safe space between both of you, with no judgements involved - start off by NOT rushing this process. it takes time and it differs for every individual, before you can be comfortable with another person
c) with time and more familiarity with each other, the guarded walls between you both will start to become thinner, and the trust wall slowly forms stronger
d) form the habit of expressing thanks or appreciation to the other person for letting their guard down infront of you. itโs not easy, not with just any one, to share feelings, so show some gratitude as this person has now started to place his/her trust in you

c) dedicate some time in a week to have regular check-ins, ideally face to face, if not then video call, (similar to dealing with those who have AAS) to ensure one anotherโs doing alright, to talk about feelings without any distractions
