🌙 Working overnights is not easy… but I have to do it 5 days a week! Here are some things I do to make my nocturnal shift a little bit easier on myself.

☕️CAFFEINE

• this one is pretty self explanatory! i have around 2 cups of coffee every day at work. i make the first one when i get in and the second one when i feel myself crashing. it helps me stay awake longer!

🧍‍♀️ STAND UP

• whenever I feel myself getting tired and my eyes start to droop, that’s my cue to stand up! i don’t want to let myself comfortable in my chair and then fall asleep, so i raise my desk to standing height and do all my work while standing until I’m feeling awake enough to sit back down.

🍴 SNACKS

• i never really have a big appetite during my shift, so i don’t bring in a meal to eat. instead, i just always keep a few snacks at my desk so i can have something to munch on in case i do get hungry.

💧 HYDRATE

• water water water! i try to keep myself as hydrated as i can throughout the day. i always have regular ice water in my owala. then in my other cup i use the sparkling water dispenser at my work & add a liquid iv pack to help me stay extra hydrated!

📖 SOMETHING TO PASS THE TIME

• i like to bring a book or listen to my music if i get my work done earlier than anticipated! i can’t just leave once i finish my work, so i like to have something to help me pass the time.
