Hi, this is my last year at college and I’ve been a “gym” girl all four years. Here’s some things that I’ve learned throughout the years and what has helped me both achieve my goals while also enjoying college and having fun. (Yes, you can do both!)

First and probably the most important is to cook your own food. As a freshman this might be tough, but if you live off campus in a house or apartment I would highly suggest eating almost every meal at home. This is the number one thing that has helped me maintain my physique. I will be honest I rarely go out to eat, only once in a while.

Next is figure out your class schedule and when you can go to the gym and what your routine is gonna be. For me I know it’s better if I go in the morning before noon so that if things come up later on I want to do (and this happens a lot) I already got my workout in.

Also, it’s sooo easy to get your steps in when you’re in college because you can walk everywhere. Use this as a way to stay active and get your steps in!

Lastly, remember you’re only in college once, and you can and you definitely should, go out and have fun. I definitely have had my fair share of late night food runs, parties, and night outs at the bar… enjoy it while it lasts!
