When the fall quarter began, I had so much motivation to consistently go to the gym, following what I’ve been doing over the summer at home. But as soon as midterms kicked up, classes got more difficult, and my schedule got more busy, suddenly I found myself skipping the gym more often than not. Having gone through this process, I’ve discovered how to be consistent with the gym:

1. Pack your gym bag the day before so it’s easy to grab it and go

2. Shortening each trip makes it less of an ordeal. Instead of not doing your 1 hour gym trip because you only have 45 minutes available, you can get in at least a shorter workout which is better than nothing

3. Choosing an optimal time where you always go to the gym no matter what you’re in the middle of helps you keep consistent

4. Keep a workout schedule so you know exactly what you are going to do at the gym without wasting any time

5. Going with a friend always makes it more fun and easy to hold each other accountable
