TAKE THESE CRUCIAL STEPS FIRST FT JOB 👩🏻‍💻

For all my corporate girlies graduating, sharing some steps I took when I first secured a full time corporate job in the Finance sector ✨

I was honestly quite lost and wished had someone to help me but HERE I AM 🤭 IM GONNA BE THAT SOMEONE FOR YOU 😘

✨ Heres what I did ✨

✅ Select a high interest bank account for my company to credit my salary in (DBS, OCBC, UOB)

💰 or go for fixed deposit if you don’t have any upcoming large payments to make like mortgage or your housing deposits.

✅ Update my CV and track projects I that I have taken initiative and led

This 🔝 is important! Don’t ever forget this!

✅ Network with as many people in your industry as possible

I’m quite shy and took my almost a year to begin reaching out to people! But here’s a mindset hack that helped me out 💖

🗣️ “Focus on bringing value to the person you meet. And being genuinely curious about what they do and who they are as a person”

✅ Speak with your Supervisor on your career progression

Here are some phrases I’ve used during my quarterly review that you could use:

🗣️“I’d like to grow alongside with the company and aim to get from Analyst to Senior Role, what skills or expectations do you have of a senior role and what can I do now to get closer to my goal.”

🗣️”I appreciate your feedback, it has been helpful and I will take the time to reflect on how I can continue to improve both my skills and communications with you”

✅ Use your month's salary and invest 💰 into a Course of your choice or subscribe to a Newsletter relevant to your role.

I’m currently studying 📑 CFI’s FMVA and looking for other Coursera courses. I have not used my skillsfuture credits yet but let me know if you have any course recommendation for entry-level analysts
