What is marriage to you?

I am not sure if this affected me.

Growing up, I was aware that “people cheat”. Through television shows and even people I know.

Although, I must say that my parents are in a very loving relationship.

My first couple relationships weren’t “rainbows and sunshine” either. Reasons being I did not “choose” who I wanted to be with. Rather, I allowed myself to get “chosen” (big mistake).

I soon learnt that relationships take work and not everyone is willing to put in the effort long term.

Hence, I did not believe in marriage and stayed single for a long time (7 years) before feeling ready to get back to the dating pool.

Even now, I don’t believe in marriage. I feel that it is just a legal piece of paper. If continuous effort is not placed into the relationship, “married already can still divorce”.

Basically, these are my thoughts. What meaning does the term “marriage” bring to you?
