The long days of grad school can be really hard to navigate with POTS. Here are some habits I try to maintain to help me feel my best and allow me to reach all of my academic goals!

1. Water, water, and more water. This is super obvious, but I work in a lab. With no food or drinks allowed, I have to be a little more conscious of reminding myself to drink water. My stanley is of course my favorite way to meet my water goals!

Liquid IV is a lifesaver for days that I don’t drink enough water, or if I’m just feeling not that great

2. FREQUENT high protein meals. Again, this is something that seems simple, but for some reason having consistent meals is difficult for me as a grad student. Going to long without eating is the quickest way to make me fatigued, and protein keeps me the most sustained!

3. Bone broth! I love bone broth, and this one from trader joes is cheap enough that I can drink it every day. I add extra salt to it, and it has protein and so many other benefits.

I am still figuring out how to make myself feel my best as a grad student! These are what have helped me a lot and I’m always looking for more wellness tips if you have some to share!
