pt 2 for d a level muggers while i study for my uni finals at 2am ๐ญ๐ญโฆ
quick context for those that didn't come from my first postโฆ
- i took a lvl's pre-covid (similar conditions to now)
- my subject combination was H2 Geog, H2 & 3 Music, H2 Math and H1 Chem (dropped from H2 in july of j2).
how credible am i?๐คจ if it is any consolation, i was getting C+s and Bs for prelims... but did super well for a levels! is (60+1.5+20+6)RP + merit for H3 good enough for u? ๐
i'll be focusing on 3 major tips i have used and am still using currently when studying for quantitative (math, statistics, chemistry, etc.) subjects in this post! pt 1 on humanities subjects here ๐

For STEM subjects particularly, there is a strong need to keep applying concepts bc a lot of this can be seen irl (e.g. chemical reactions, graphs, etc.). For chemistry, I tried to visualise how organic chem can be applicable in my life & make it more "personal", such that it is not just another formula in the book. E.g. I read the back of products for their ingredients to test myself chemistry LOL... ngl it's quite fun bc u realise that alot of the compounds u see on the bottles are toxic despite what the label claims xd

VERY TRUE especially for subjects that require heavy applications of formulas. I'm rly not a numbers girl... but the number of papers I do a day is insane lol.... that is how u get the A. No sugar coating, it's gonna be toughโthe more u practice, the better u are at identifying question types, which leads you to be quicker to apply ur concepts!
To keep things organised, I make a doc w types of questions tested & standardised some steps for me to get to the solution... Sounds like a lot of work but it works for me when tracking the diff "patterns" of questions, which reduces question analysis time.

This one is a given, no explanations needed. Even at uni, I try to understand the different components of a formula instead of memorising. Combining step 1๏ธโฃ to this helps me better remember and understand how these formula can be applied, which enables me to use it in my future work.
THAT'S A WRAP,, GOOD LUCK FOR A LEVELS!!! ๐๐ฅ
