It was a BLESSING in disguise in Jeju 🏃‍♀️🏃🌅🌄

HAPPY NEW YEAR ! it has been a while and I just returned from Korea 🇰🇷

as we were spending the new year in Jeju, we did some research and found out there's a yearly sunrise event at Seongsan Ichulbong - Seongsan Sunrise Festival - like why not do something different for new year !! 🌄

so we were pretty hyped for it and were waiting for the date of the ticketing to open on 20 Dec (also found out that there were only 900 slots). on the day, we tried to register ON THE DOT but i guess we can't beat the experts at ticketing 🥹🥹 i was pretty devastated alright

but we did have a back up plan which was to swap our itinerary slots around so we can still catch the new year sunrise nearby - SEOPJIKOJI 🌅 so we used naver, kakaomap and Google maps to find a good location for viewing - lo and behold the research paid off and we managed to capture the beauty 🥹 we even managed to have a spot to capture a time-lapse of the sunrise 🎞 (📍location in 5th pic)

after catching the sunrise, we went to have breakfast near Seongsan Ichulbong before heading up. after many stairs up, it felt a little underwhelming at the top of Seongsan Ichulbong 😅🥲 which made us really glad that we didn't get the tickets as the view seemed mehh 😂 and we did not understand how 900 pax can squeeze on those stairs like platform - we dodged a bullet there 🤪 big blessing in disguise and great start to the year 🌅✨️

I think it's a pretty good experience to catch the new year sunrise 🌅 i guess it's different from the usual countdown so why not 🤭

📝 we left our accoms in Seogwipo around 4.30am and took a taxi for about 1h 30 mins 🚕 and reached around 6am
