Ancestral Veneration

Happy Sunday and Happy Hoodoo Heritage Month

Todays veneration is a little different. If you can and if you’re led my spirit to do so, go visit your ancestors grave site.

For some it may be hard to connect with those in the spirit realm especially if you’re just starting off in your practice. Talking, praying or meditating at a table may feel strange. But if you know where some of your people have been laid to rest, go visit. There’s nothing to be afraid of and you may see a change in your veneration after.

If you do go, take offering with you. Something that the person liked when they were here on earth, you can also take libations (their favorite alcohol or water) to show your appreciation.

Sit a spell and commune with your loved ones, pray, meditate, feel, listen to everything that is going on around you at the time. You never know, you may receive divine messaging.
