Lune | Killer croissants in Melbourne

No trip to Melbourne is complete without a Lune run. I've visited both pre and post-pandemic, and I must say major props for consistency in taste. A rundown of my experiences:

On my first run, I strategically went on a weekday cos their bakes sells out really quick, but not so strategically arrived at 11am because I didn’t know how to top up my metro card.

Ordered the highly-raved-about almond croissant, lemon curd cruffin and a standard kouign amann, which smelled amazing and tasted even better. Perfect ratios, from the sweetness of the filling to the flakiness of the pastries, that can be easily stolen from their glass kitchen.

Queue formed shortly after we ordered. Love being god’s favourite!

Birthday cake is my favourite flavour and it was very pleasant waking up to a gigantic buttercream-filled croissant after a night out. And it really is mad big - I had it for two meals, dropped half into my friend's luggage and there was still some left over.

We also got the usual suspects, and I'm convinced that the lemon curd cruffins remain unbeatable as the best thing in the world. An actual joy to bite into tangy and refreshing curd, even if I had to wash it down with mediocre coffee.
