what to eat in MELBOURNE!!! 🇦🇺🦘

this is my 2nd time back in 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲 and i’ll be sharing with y’all what i ate while i was here! 🇦🇺especially known for its coffee, i might have found the best one yet! ☕️ continue reading for food recommendations! 😋

📍𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗻𝘂𝘁 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻

look out for the retro-looking van at Queen Victoria’s Market! 🚐 these jam-filled donuts are so simple, yet so satisfying… you’re also able to catch a glimpse of them creating these treats from start to finish; from hand-kneading the dough, to filling them up with their specialty jam, to frying them to golden perfection 🤩 definitely a must-have treat when you’re here~ ps… they’re served fresh & hot right after frying! 🌟

📍𝗥𝗜𝗣𝗘 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲

an all-australian cheese shop! ✨ we got their sandwich with pastrami and gruyere cheese, & it was so good!!! portion’s pretty big so it’s perfect for sharing between 2/3 people 🧀 they have other variations of sandwiches too~

📍𝗦𝗮𝗹'𝘀 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗣𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗮

easily one of the best slices of pizza i’ve ever had in my life… super addictive & 1 slice hovers around $6 to $7+ 💸 conveniently located within the CBD, it’s definitely worth dropping by! they offer a variety of flavours too but my personal favourites are their Pepperoni and 5 Boroughs! 🍕

📍𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝘆𝘀

this was just a 5 minutes walk away from our hotel & it surprisingly ended up being one of the best cafes we visited in Melbourne! 😄 serving up usual brunch food, we ordered the Big Breakfast & Egg Benny to share~ of course we had to get some coffee too, which ended up being one of the best ones we had throughout our trip!!! 🥞☕️

📍𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱'𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗽𝗼𝘁

we were craving for asian food so bad lol so we decided to have hotpot for dinner! 😆 just your usual hotpot place with quite a variety of ingredients to choose from 🥬🥩 we got the pork bone & mala soup base, in which both were very flavourful!!!especially enjoyed their fried milk dish which is rather hard to find in SG~ total bill came up to $35+- per pax 😬

📍𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲

a highly raved bakery offering baked goods, namely croissants and cruffins! 🥐 i find it debatable as to whether or not their pastries are worth the hype… their croissants were indeed delicious & tasted high quality but they go at a steep price… extremely long queues too but they do move quite quickly~ can give this a miss unless you wna hop on the bandwagon! coffee was rather average too, not quite strong enough for my friend & i 😶...

📍𝗣𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗘𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼 𝗕𝗮𝗿

the exterior looks rather unassuming but step in & you’ll be transported back to the 80s – an old-school looking restaurant that you won’t find anywhere else! ☎️ we wanted to try their gnocchi but they ran out that day… 😞 we ended up getting some rigatoni and ravioli, which were served in tangy tomato sauce; both pastas tasted very homely & authentic! our meal even came with a side of bread & butter which was really nice. definitely worth a try! 🍝

📍𝗔𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼 𝗕𝗮𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘆

we stopped by this bakery for some pies during our drive to Great Ocean Road! 🌊 they’re known for their scallop pies so we got just that, along with a shrimp one 🍤 super delicious & unique… enjoyed snacking on these a lot! 🌤️
