diary: post-UTI feminine things from the doctor 🥺👩‍⚕️

following my previous UTI diary, I have decided to made some long term changes in my life

#GirlTalk time!

bcos female urinary track is short, UTI amongst females are common (but avoidable) &&& the chances of recontracting UTI is actually higher than those who haven’t got UTI before (not sure why but doctor say one)

dont come at me, but feminine wash is currently #NotForMe ptsd probably

I started using feminine wash, for the obvious reason - to clean your privates

‼️but but but‼️ our privates are capable of cleaning themselves and we do not need feminine wash

I actually started feminine wash bcos I had rashes when I use disposable pads during menses (switching to reusable pads actually stop my itch)

The doctor I visited, prescribed me with ✨Lactacyd Feminine Wash✨

so I thought feminine wash was an essential part of our personal hygiene & after emptying the bottle, I got feminine wash from other brands (bad decision)

👉🏼 wash your privates with just 💧water💧

👉🏼 never douche

👉🏼 using feminine wash increases the chances of UTI bcos it might kill good bacteria and let the bad bacteria grow 😱

💡in fact, using feminine wash can throw off your ph balance and allow the overgrowth of bacteria

💀 this can cause UTIs and increases the risks of vaginal irritation and infections

ok other than ❌no feminine wash❌, these are my changes to minimise UTI

✅ drink lots of water

✅ do not hold in pee

✅ wear cotton undies (avoid seamless)

i bought 14 undies at one go lol my mum was like wtf r u doing. it was cheap 7 pieces at $10 from Shopee #BestDeals

✅ pantyliner

mainly wear reusable ones from period.co super cute but say real I use disposables one at times but rashes will make me switch back to reusable. reusable is great, but washing isn’t 🫠

✅ cranberry juice/ candy

my mum line of work revolves around health & supplement. so she got me cranberry gummy while my dad bought 100% cranberry juice lol 100% cranberry loaded

✅✅ always wipe from front to back

‼️ back to front = bringing bacteria to your privates
