PT 2 of beating the JB checkpoint jam 🫢

so, the bukit chagar shortcut is usually the most popular shortcut into JB CIQ if the main highway (highlighted in green previously) is jammed up. it usually saves you a little bit of time. but sometimes, the route leading into the bukit chagar shortcut will also be backed up with traffic 🙄 but!! it’s a two directional road leading into the shortcut - so here’s how to get there from the opposite direction.

this route will also be useful for those peeps coming from JB Sentral area (City Square, Jln Wong Ah Fook, R&F Mall), and is not very well known. check the traffic cams too beforehand, as there’s a camera view from R&F Mall that can see the traffic of this route.

TAKE NOTE: don’t try to use this shortcut on Sundays from 3pm - 12am as it will be blocked and you’ll just end up making things harder for yourself. i’ll talk about that in the next post!

the visuals above will show you the general outlay highlighted in yellow; you’ll have to make a decision to see whether this route is accessible! Just maps to Jalan Jim Quee and you’ll be able to follow the road all the way into the shortcut (hopefully beating everyone else opposite 😆)
