i’ve been learning Korean for over a year, and i’m about to take my TOPIK (Korean proficiency test), in preparation to apply for university there!! i’ve tried self learning, as well as with a centre, so i’m here to tell you about learning with a centre 🇰🇷
- in Singapore, the 2 biggest centres to learn from is Sejeong and Daehan. Sejeong is definitely more central at Tanjong Pagar and Daehan is located in Kembangan 🏠
- the founder of Daehan is actually the father of the founder of Sejeong (from what I heard), and Sejeong’s founder used to teach at Daehan as well. so personally i went with Daehan as it’s better to learn from the master than the student 🤣🤣
- Daehan is quite lesson focused, while Sejeong tries to incorporate more fun & is not as focused on the syllabus, hence Sejeong is more popular with younger people 🤭
- i love Daehan as the teachers are very patient and will talk to you in Korean, which forces you to practise more and improve faster 📈
- Daehan offers a wide range of classes at a variety of different prices, from intensive lessons to private classes that you can check out here !
- Daehan offers student prices for those who are studying, with group classes at $300, excluding books. book are $50 on top of the class price 💸
- Daehan offers free trial lessons if you’re curious to try it out, which you can check out on their website! 💻
i hope this helps you decide on which approach to study Korean, and as always feel free to ask me any questions you have in the comments!! 💜
