tokyo street kart review - speeding at SHIBUYA 😱

if you’ve been to shibuya crossing before you’ve DEFINITELY noticed these small red karts speeding around - this is something you can do too! though i did feel that the experience was slightly pricey, it was really thrilling and fun to try out just for once!

1. BOOKING

✅ you MUST have a driving licence and get an International Driving Permit from Automobile Association Singapore ($20 to get it instantly in person)

✅ Book with Street Kart through their facebook page - you must make pre-payment, free cancellation up to 7 days before

🚗 you can also choose different routes with their different branches (tokyo bay, shinjuku etc)

2. ARRIVE & GET YOUR COSTUME!

✅ pick from their array of disney/cartoon costumes and they will play a safety video & teach you how to drive the car

✅ you’ll be driving following a guide in front and in single file at all times. you’re driving next to other cars and buses on the road!

👟 ensure you’re wearing covered shoes or you won’t be able to drive.

3. HAVE FUN!

🚗 at some times we went really fast and it was super exhilarating as it was an open kart and we were so close to the roads. we drove by shibuya crossing about 3 times in one session!

📸 yes you can take pictures and videos while at red lights! you can also rent a chest mount for $1 if you prefer to be hands free, that’s what i did and i recorded really cool driving videos!

overall it was a super touristy but unique experience and so many people waved to us at shibuya crossing 😛 let me know if you are planning to try this on your next trip!
