Okay here’s what abs are really like to get and maintain.
- its 90% diet. You NEED to be in a calorie deficit to get rid of stomach fat.
- LOW CARB. Eat low carb, that means keep around 30% of your calories from carbs
- NO ADDED SUGARS. Eliminate all added sugars from your regular diet. Substitute artificial sweeteners if you must. You will get used to less sweet tasting foods and actually now, I even find skippy peanut butter to be too sweet tasting! 😅
- DO CARDIO. You must be doing steady state cardio for enough time every week. I do 30 mintues incline walking every morning. It’s easy and done fast and I don’t have to worry about it later.
- Lastly, DOING ABS IN THE GYM WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT DOING THESE OTHER THINGS. Just doing ab exercises will not make you lose any fat in your core and expose those abs. Those workouts can help thicken and define already exposed abs but you will not see a 6 pack just from doing whatever crunch variation or “ab blaster” routine you saw on ig. 🤷♂️
Getting abs is about shedding fat to expose what is already there, not building up muscles to poke through fat.
