We’re approaching the end of Jan!! Are you eating well to make this year a golden one for yourself?
If you’re looking to get your protein and veggie fix all at one go, check out this simple recipe!
I’ve made this nutritious dish three times using different ingredients (see below for deets). Feel free to pick and choose the protein and veggies you love most for this dish 🩵
Here’s a simple 4 step guide to crafting your healthy meal:
Step 1️⃣: Defrost, chop and marinate your protein! Examples:
- Chicken breast, with garlic pepper spice blend
- Chicken wing, marinated with a bit of oyster sauce
- Shabu shabu beef
Step 2️⃣: Measure and wash your rice grains TWICE
- A standard serving of rice is usually half a cup
- The rice water can be used to water your plants! I like to put some on my arms to keep my skin soft haha
Step 3️⃣: Choose your veggies and chop em however you like! Some ideas:
- Pumpkin (highly recommended to infuse the rice with a natural sweetness!)
- (Cherry) tomatoes
- Garlic
- Onions
- Carrots
- Broccoli
- Bok Choy/小白菜
- Capsciums
- Spinach
Step 4️⃣: Put all your ingredients into the rice cooker and add your sauce (optional). Press the start button to cook. Remember: these sauces contain sodium & sugar so add SPARINGLY! Some examples:
- Oyster sauce
- Light soya sauce
- Ketchup
- Sesame oil
