Life As A FC So Far.. 😗

2 years ago.. told myself I would never become a FC especially with all the stigmas surrounding FCs. Told myself I would never become one of those that reaches out to people and ask for a catch up over a cup of coffee 🤣🤣 Fast forward 2 years later, here I am, being a full-time FC at 22 y/o 😗 Don’t throw hate pls I swear I’m nice 🥲

So, what made me change my mind?? Well, that’s for another post, the story is too long 😵‍💫 But well, putting aside the stigma and the downsides of being a FC (people literally avoid you 24/7 💀), here’s my story and journey as a FC so far. And please note that this is my personal journey, and I do not speak for every agent out there!!

So in order to even become a FC in the first place, I had to pass 5 papers. Were the papers easy?? I guess it really depends on if you are a studious kind of person as, well, it’s hundreds of pages filled with just words that you’d have to memorise.. And best believe when some of us tell you that we know what we are talking about, we really do. The textbooks are filled with important informations that ensure we fully understand what our job is, what services we are providing and products we are selling. But yay! I managed to get through that and I thought the hard part was over 😀 silly me

The hard part was just starting. After that, I had to go for an induction programme that fully hones our skills to the max and ensures we put our clients’ interest first. Now, I don’t know if this really helped other FCs but it helped me at least. I was someone who was super introverted, didn’t know how to speak up properly but this really helped me a lot. Well I passed the induction and my group came in 3rd for the most cases closed!! Woohoo

Now comes the hardest part,,, 🥲🥲🥲 actually reaching out to people and prospecting .. Omg when I tell you I was so scared to reach out to people and friends and inform them I was an FC, I’m not kidding. I would send messages and immediately off my phone bc I was so scared to read their replies 🤥 And I was so doubtful of my own abilities, “ what if no one wants to reply me or listen to me??? “. And knowing that people would think I just want their money didn’t help either. BUT I was determined to prove that I am not going be one of those agents and that I hate hard-selling. Come on, I used to be one of those who got approached by people who hard-sell so I told myself, I would never be pushy.

Well, I GUESS THAT WORKED???? I just chose to believe in myself and being genuine, and YAY. I got my first case, which led to me gaining more confidence and across the past 9 months, I have successfully built a client base filled with people who actually believe in me and have placed their trust in me 🥹🥹🫶🏻 If any of you are reading this, I love you. Thank you 😙 I’m not lying ok!! As you can see from slide 4, some were saying “ I don’t think I’ll buy anything” or some people would tell me “ I don’t believe in ILPs / insurance “ etc. but after a talk with me, yay!!! I managed to portray that I genuinely just care and want to protect/grow their finances 🫶🏻

Receiving and reading testimonials from these clients / friends of mine made me so happy 🥲 I was so glad that I really didn’t become a pushy/hard-selling agent and I’m glad they realise that I just want the best for them 🥳

Fast-forward, to give back to my clients, I have been hosting free movie events for them to attend to and I think they’ve been enjoying them!! Super happy to reconnect with them through these movie events and it’s just a nice way for me to thank them <3 So if you want to attend free movies with free popcorns and drinks… HMU ok I take very good care of my clients 😗

And another happiest moment for me was recently, I sent my clients their investment performance and it’s nice to see that it has been doing well 🥹 see, I promise you not all FAs are “scammers”. I know some people really hate ILPs… but, just find yourself a trustable agent that will explain to you the pros and cons and who knows? You might end up enjoying the features! (If you want me as your agent to do that for you also can 😛 I have proof ok!! Clients are happy HAHA). Yes I can’t guarantee them that it’ll always be doing well, but I deliver my promise to be a good servicing agent who keeps track of it weekly for them and update them whenever they want to give them a peace of mind 🫶🏻 and it’s paying off!! (If you want to invest, now also good time ok!!! We got promotion 😉 don’t say I never say so hmu if int HAHA) but ya so cute, as you can see from the messages, we are just adulting together 🥹 So trust that I will understand whatever financial situation you guys are in!! I’m also prob around the same age, facing the same problems as you are, can just talk to me as a friend <3

And lastly!! With this job, and my hard-work, I’ve managed to had the time off to travel with my friends to Japan recently!! Will be doing up a post about Japan soon but I’m so thankful for my job 🥹🫶🏻

So does it really suck? Uh well sometimes … after getting rejected by so many people but I still love this job <3 And I love talking to more people now!! And it makes me the happiest when I see my clients doing well and when I can help add value to people <3 Lmk what questions you have! I’d be more than happy to answer them hehe
