Underhand barbell rows can be pretty tricky to get down. And even the slightest bad form can cause you to harm your back or injure yourself in any way.

I’m going to give you a simple rundown of how to master the form of underhand barbell rows…

Start by getting into RDL position, keeping your spine and neck aligned with each other and your chin tucked. Next, you’re going to grab the bar and position it out in front of you and start rowing towards your belly button and not your chest. Keep good form and your chin down.

There really isn’t much more to it than that! And if you’re new to the gym or have never done barbell rows, remember to start with no weight so that way you’re not at risk for injury!

If the barbell is too heavy for you, you can always use dumbbells as well. Grab a pair of light dumbbells and the form will be the exact same!
